I provided all the documents that I needed to apply, as well as the following supporting documents:
- Boarding Pass for flight to London [28/01/2015]
Pre Accommodation in London (night before trip) [28/01/2015]
The trip confirmation (detailing the departure and finish dates) [29/01 - 08/02]
Post Accommodation in London (night before return) [08/02/2015]
Boarding Pass for flight from London [09/02/2015]
Travel Insurance
The decision stated:
I acknowledge that you have provided details of a hotel booking for 1 night. However, the documents you have provided do not show me how you will meet the cost of your accommodation and maintenance in the UK, nor is it clear where you will stay for the remainder of your trip
In the light of the above, I am not satisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry to the UK as visitor, or that you can meet the cost of your accommodation and maintenance without recourse to public funds or employment. Paragraph 41 (i) (ii) and (vi)
Had the Entry Clearance Officer who rejected my application actually read the documents, he would have seen all the details he needed to know.
As a 19 year old, black South African (studying in Switzerland) I have to understand and bear with the fact that that will always raise red flags to authorities, however, there were no grounds for my application to be rejected. Needless to say, the trip was ruined.
How can I appeal this to get the decision overturned or at least get a refund?
Thank you in advance for your counsel!
