Hi
I completed my masters in the UK 3 months ago and am currently on a work permit. My work permit expires in April 08 however I intend to switch to HSMP for further opportunities.
To obtain adequate points for HSMP, I need to claim points for my education in the UK. One of the required documents for this, as mentioned in the HSMP guidelines, is a letter from the home office confirming the student status. Herein lies the problem. I was not given a letter from the embassy when I received a student visa, and the embassy have confirmed this in email. My student visa was extended in the UK using the university batch scheme and also thenI did not get a letter of my visa status. I phoned the home office about a month ago and they told me to write to the lunar office clarifying my situation and asking for a letter. I sent the letter but have not heard from them yet.
Does anyone know if case officers will be satisfied with notarised copy of visas, or they will outrightly reject applications because of missing home office letter confirming student status? Perhaps, someone has had this problem before. I would be grateful for any advice in this regard. It is mentioned in the application form that in exceptional circumstances, notarised copy of visas will be accepted. Many thanks in advance.
