Information Regarding 6 Months Valid Leave

Hi all,

I am asking this on behalf of my friend , he is on a Tier 4 (G) Visa valid till 30 Oct 2015 , it was issued in June 2014.

he is getting married 10 July 2015 , to a British Citizen, he meets all the other requirements,
can he Switch in country (6 months Valid Leave requirement) , or does he have to leave the country and apply from abroad.

He can switch to FLR(M) from within the UK. He'll need to pay the NHS surcharge of £500 for the first 2.5 year extension in addition to the visa fee, before he submits the application.
