naturalization as BC 5 years or 3 yrs route? confusion ?

Post by REKAL » Wed May 06, 2015 1:49 pm

Dear All,

I have entered UK on 25/09/2011 on tier 1 dependant visa
and i got my ILR/PR on 07/01/2015.

my husband is applying for his naturalisation/British passport soon.
my question is

should i wait till 25/09/2016 to apply for my naturalisation
( is compulsary to wait 5 years before applying for naturlisation 4 years on tier 1 general dependant + 1 year ILR)

OR

Can i apply for naturalisation as soon as by husband get his british nationality
and apply under 3 year rule as spouse of BC

Note: i have entered UK on tier 1 general dependant visa and not spouse of a british citizen, so my question is shall i wait for 5 years or 3 years is enough and
apply for naturalistion as soon as my husband get BC.

I never been out of UK since the day i arrived.

Please all senior members or people who had been in same situation can you please Guide me, because i am planning to go to india and with your help and responses i can decide whether i can go for 90 days or 180 days....

thank you

Yes, you can do this once he attends his ceremony and receives his certificate.
