Coming to Ireland on Working Holiday Authorization (US cit.)

Post by spmdsb » Tue Jun 02, 2015 4:51 pm

I'm a US citizen, approved for a working holiday authorization for Ireland. It has been issued and is already in my possession. I am moving to Ireland in three days, and have some questions about going through immigration.

On one site, https://www.dfa.ie/irish-consulate/bost ... orisation/ , it states that I must have access to 1,500EUR and a return ticket. However on another, https://www.dfa.ie/travel/visas/us-irel ... angements/ , it states that I must have either 1500EUR and a return ticket, OR access to 3000EUR (without a return ticket).

This is confusing me. I have not bought a return ticket as its not possible to purchase one an entire year in advance, however I do have bank statements proving that I have +3000EUR in my bank account. Because of the differences on the websites, I'm worried that it might cause a hold up, or suspicion, that I don't have a return ticket when I make my way through immigration in Dublin this Friday.

Both sites state that the working holiday authorization will only be APPROVED upon proof of these funds, and given that I've already been approved, I can't imagine that I need to worry about it. But I am. Don't wanna get all the way over there to have the immigrations officer tell me something different! Have any of you had experience with this? Will it be a problem?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thank you!
