College?

Post by koolkate » Mon Jun 29, 2015 1:34 pm

I've applied for flr(fp) and my lawyer said that it'll take about 6 months minimum. My daughter has finished school so I was wondering if she could go to college? Will SASS(I am in Scotland) pay for it or does she have to apply as an international student.

What is your daughter's status? Is she either a British or EEA citizen or is she settled in the UK (ILR/PR)?

If she is any of the above, she will count as a home student and get the appropriate loans, etc.

If she is on a limited leave to remain visa, she will be an international student. Being an international student is far more expensive than being a home student.

We're applying under 7 year concession rule as my other daughter is still under 18. Thanks for your time, I really appreciate it

College

Post by koolkate » Sun Sep 11, 2016 11:19 pm

I am 20 years old, dependent on my parents. Last year we applied flr fp seven year child case based on my younger brother who is under 18. My question is while we are waiting for home office to make decision can I apply to college by going to a local MP and getting a letter from them?
Last year I applied to college but they asked me for NI number which I didn't have so I didn't go, I thought we would've gotten a decision by now but we didn't and I don't want to waste another year so can you please advice me?
Thanks for your time, I really appreciate it.
