Taking up a position at an international after applying

Post by Otter » Fri Jul 31, 2015 5:29 pm

Dear all,

I wonder if you could help me.

I applied for naturalisation, the application was acknowledged by the Home Office at the beginning of July 2015. On the application form, I explained that I might accept a job offer at an international organisation (not based in London + of which the UK is a member). I decided to accept the offer and I am due to start the position at the beginning of September.

As I am moving out from my current apartment, I will no longer be using my current address. In my understanding, I should be informing UKBA about the change of address. It would be great to get your advice on whether I should give them an address of a friend of mine who lives in the UK and could be my point of contact or if I should give them my new address once I have taken up the position at the inernational organisation?

My assumption is that it is fine for me to leave the country at this stage as I would be joining an "international organisation that the UK is a member of" - is that indeed correct?

Many thanks in advance!

You must keep us informed of any changing circumstances including change of address or agent
If your application is successful and you are living in the UK, you will be invited to attend a citizenship ceremony. You will receive an invitation letter from the Home Office and this will confirm the local authority you should contact to arrange your ceremony. We expect you to arrange to attend a ceremony within 3 months of receiving your invitation otherwise it will expire and you will have to reapply for naturalisation and pay a further processing fee
