ILR - Which visa category for Child born outside UK

Post by manjug » Wed Aug 12, 2015 10:26 pm

Hello,

I am in a strange situation, please your advice will be appreciated.

I'm on ILR (granted last year 2014) , but my partner is still on Tier 1 dependent which will expired in 2017.

Our baby was born in India in Jan this year, my partner and the baby both are still in India. I'm planning to apply visa for my baby- but not sure which category to apply.

Will it be family member joining settled person, after reading I'm really confused with financial requirement and maintenance requirement.

Kindly help me which category to apply for the baby, what are the documents and funds i should show during the application.

If you were granted IlR under PBS, then child may apply for entry clearance as a PBS dependant, in line with mother's.

Else, if you were granted ILR under Long residence, then both mother and child should apply for settlement visas under Appendix FM.
