Maternity benefits for HSMP dependent visa holders

Post by pktamil2007 » Sun Oct 07, 2007 7:09 pm

Hi,

I have got HSMP approval and planning to move with my wife who also will be taking up a job in UK. I wish to know the maternity benefits viz:

1. Duration of paid leave
2. statuary pay received during the duration of paid leave.
3. Medical benefits for the mother and the child
4. Day care facilities that are run by the state and the charges

Are the above available and to what extent for HSMP visa holders and their dependents?
Anyone please give some information on this.

Thanks in advance

Is ur wife pregnant now? I can't see any employer taking on a pregnant woman....

1. Dunno - ISTR it's about 39 weeks but there are qualifying periods. Try Google.

2. 90% for first six weeks, then the same or 112 quid a week or so whichever is the lower. I found this on click one of a google search but can't be bothered for the others if you can't.

3. Dunno, try Google

4. Ha! None! For first part and freaking expensive for second part (private) but try Google.
