can we clain tax credits?

Post by sweet fatima » Fri Jan 15, 2016 1:57 pm

im a british citizen. i live in the uk. my husband will be applying for extention in august for another 2.5 years. after this he will apply for settlement. in the mean time i wanted to know if we could claim any benefits like child tax credits or working tax credits. we have one child. if we claim for any benefits will this effect his application as on his biometric card it says not entitled to public funds.

thanks very much

No problem if (as strange as it may seem) you claim for WTC and CTC in joint names. Child benefit in your name alone.
