UK Residence Card application (EEA qualified person)

Post by ndl.alex0608 » Sun Feb 21, 2016 1:12 am

Hi everyone,

It's my first post here in the forum. I'm applying for a UK residence card as a non-EEA family member of an EEA national who's in the UK as a 'qualified person'. I'm an American citizen and applying as an over-21 child who's dependent on my mother, who holds Norwegian citizenship. My mom has been working in the UK for several months and has just received her EEA registration certificate in the post last week, which I understand is required for my type of application.

However, while filling out the application form for the residence card, I notice the UKVI still asks for details of my mom's employer and official stamp or seal from the company (on page 65-66 of the form), despite the fact that they have already asked for my mother's EEA registration certificate reference number in a previous page of the form. She had already done this when she was applying for the registration certificate. The problem is it took almost a month for her employer, after constant follow-up reminder, to sort this out back then. So can I just include her registration certificate in my application instead of going through all the hassle with her employer again?

This question might sound obvious but I really don't know what I should do. The document check-list at the end of the application form does not include the registration certificate as a supporting document, just looks to me like the certificate wouldn't count as anything here.

I would really appreciate any advice here. Thank you! :)

Your mother's registration certificate merely confirms her status at the time of her application. It may be sufficient if her employer just formally confirms that nothing has changed with regards to her employment since then; i.e that they still employ her, etc.
