Changes to FLR(HSMP) when new point-based system introduced?

Post by flanker » Thu Jan 10, 2008 10:52 pm

My leave to remain under the Highly Skilled Migrant Program (HSMP) category expires on 15 May 2008. The FLR(HSMP) Guidance note suggests that I should submit my application for further leave to remain using form FLR(HSMP) 5 weeks before the expiry date, i.e. around 10 April 2008.

I understand that the HSMP will be replaced by a new point-based system in the first quarter of 2008.

At the moment, I am preparing documents and evidence for my HSMP further leave to remain application based on the requirements of the FLR(HSMP) form version 04/2007.

Can someone advise me on the following questions:

1) Do we know if the current FLR(HSMP) form version 04/2007 will still be valid when I make my application in late April 2008?

2) If the current FLR(HSMP) form version 04/2007 is no longer valid in late April 2008, where can I find information about any additional requirements or evidence that I need to submit to support my application under any new application process? I need this information so that I can prepare for my application in good time. If the new application process or form is published very near my application date, I might be left with very little time to prepare for any potential new requirements.

Please advise.
