Spouse visa and carers allowance

Post by ejabarnes » Fri Apr 20, 2018 12:45 pm

Hi,

I am sorry if this is posted in the wrong section, I have a question regarding the spouse visa and reaching adequate maintenance.

I am a U.S citizen and I will be applying for a spouse visa soon. My wife is exempt from meeting the financial requirement as she is in receipt of carers allowance.

To reach the adequate maintenance she is working part time and earns £108 per week and receives carers allowance of £62.10 per week. She also has savings of over 6k which she has held in her account for over 6 months.

However, her employment is a zero hour contract but she has been working 14.5 hours per week for the past 6 months and this isn’t anticipated to change.

She lives with her mother and has 2 spare bedrooms and has no expenses.

My question is will this be enough to reach adequate maintenance and will the zero hour contract be a problem?

Thank you, for your help.

More than enough. Zero hour wont be an issue since she can show some payslips and bank statements for money coming in. Of course, all proof of benefit and savings. Send 6 months of bank statements.

All the best
