Urgent - Applying EC after the new rules

hi friends,

i hav got my HSMP approval letter on Dec-10-2007.i hav not yet applied for EC.i am planning to apply this month.But the rules hav been changed.I hav got confused by seeing the rules whether i need to follow the old rules or the new ones.Still i hav not yet got cleared....

today morning i tried to enquire by phone to the Chennai VFS office.but noone is picking up the call.Then i tried to a Bangalore number (080) 40084008..at last they received it.

the guy over there told like since i hav got the HSPM approval during Dec 2007 i hav to follow the old rules only.he assured that for me only the old rules are applicable....

but the confusion here is that in all the websites, they hav given as follow the new rules...so i am afraid to apply EC now whether to follow old rules or to follow new one...

It would be a great favour for me if anyone reply on this and try to clear all my doubts.

If you got the approval before 31st of March (India) then you will apply EC under the old rules.
