Business name change

Hi,

I recently changed nature and name of my limited company. Today, I went to Barclays branch to report it and they told me they need to close my current business account and open a new one because they can not just change the name. What should I do? I will lose all my account history transactions. I'm so worried, I'm just 6 months away from my 10 year. Will this affect my 10 year application?

Surprising - I changed my business name and did not even inform Barclays. I then saw that it had automatically changed online and in statements. It looked like they were connected to companies house and got that updated automatically.

Anyway, there should be no need for you to change that account business name in most cases

I agree with Marcnah, banks are connected with company house, if you close down business bank know and will write you. and even if account close down, bank can give you statement at any time whenever you need between 3 or 5 year I think you you can check with bank).

Thank you so so much. I called Barclays for the forth time yesterday evening and they finally (very nice lady) told me the truth that It automatically gets updated after 10 working days. The first 3 customer representatives told me, I need to close my account and open a new one. I'm now sure Barclays has a scheme that pays some sort of commission per new account opened. They probably thought I'm an easy target for them because I'm a foreigner and young.

Everybody should be aware, they almost destroyed my life!!
