REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE EEA1

Post by Ema » Sun Apr 27, 2008 6:51 pm

:) Hi everybody!!!

I would like to know if is it possible for an EEA2 to apply for a Residence Card as a spouse if the EEA member has not applied for a Registration Certificate yet???
Or can we proceed send the EEA2 Application to be considered and after that arrange an appointment for "EEA member" my husband to go at Croydon" s Home Office to apply for a Resgistration Certificate personally?

if u guys could please, give me a light!!!

Thanksxxx

No, there is no need to apply for a Registration Certificate. You only need to prove that your spouse is eligible, because he is working, self employed, studying, retired or wealthy.

Until recently it was helpful to send both applications together (since they pretty much require the same documents), but with the latest reorganisation that no longer seems to be the case. So you can just go ahead and send the EEA2 form. Be warned though that it takes nearly 6 months to process.
