Online application date confusion

Post by Zhonno » Sat Oct 13, 2018 4:31 am

Hello all,

Could someone help clear up some confusion, please?

My wife's BRP expires on 22 Oct 2018. We are applying for FLR(M).

If we submit the online form before then, does this mean we can choose an appointment within 45 days, even though the visa will expire before the 45 days are up?

The info seems contradictory:
Under the immigration rules, it says under (9) (a):

Where the application is made:
• on-line and the applicant chooses to or is subsequently required to attend an appointment at a place specified by the Home Office as part of the application process, the applicant must make and attend the appointment within 45 business days of submission of the on-line application.
And under 34
• 34G. For the purposes of these rules, the date on which an application is made is:
• (iv) where the application is made via the online application process, the date on which the online application is submitted whether or not a subsequent appointment is made at a Home Office premium service centre.

However, on the Premium Centre page, it says:

You must attend your appointment before your current visa or leave expires or your application could be refused.

Many thanks!
