Hi all,
Apologies for asking another version of this question, but I've been unable to reach anyone through the UKVI or UK consulates in the US to ask:
I was recently denied entry on a Tier 2 visa and have returned to the US. I want to know how long do I need to wait or what precautions I should take before trying to enter the UK on a tourist visa?
Basically, I had misunderstood the terms of the curtailment process (no thanks to my HR department...), and had left the UK after resigning from my job associated with my Tier 2 visa. I had not yet received my curtailment letter, and was under the mistaken impression I could leave and return as normal until that arrived.
When I tried to enter on the tier 2 visa, I was denied entry, granted 48 hours of immigration bail, then returned to the US. The Border Force, however, said I was specifically NOT banned from re-entering the UK, but thought it would be more difficult to enter next time.
I would like to return soon for a few weeks, however, as my wife is actually still in the UK packing up for our full move and listing our property in the UK for sale!
So far, I've been unable to reach any actual person at either the UK Embassy or UK Consulates in the US, can find no information or contacts on the UKVI websites, and when I spoke again with the Border Force they referred me back to the UK consulates!
Any direction as to where I can get some clarity would be greatly appreciated!
