Spouse settlement visa(Outside UK)

Post by tabletop123 » Fri Nov 23, 2018 4:13 pm

Hello all,

I would like to get some expert advice from you with regards to my wife’s settlement visa(Outside UK). I am currently under ILR and I opted to bring my wife here through ‘Spouse’ settlement visa type.

I collected all the documents and I am ready to apply for it, but I have some confusion around where to submit the supporting documents. also do I have to submit all in originals for the supporting documents or photocopies are fine? example my passport, BRP card etc.

My wife is currently based in India and the application will be done from there. The email I got after booking the appointment says, she got to bring the application, passport and all the supporting documents to the centre as shown below, but I also read on VFS website saying all the supporting documents should be posted directly to UKVI at Sheffield (https://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/in/en/news/ ... ement-visa ).

It will be great if any of you can shed some light on my case or please direct me to right direction so I can get a clear view on this.

Thank you in advance.

PS: Email content from VFS.

On the day of your Appointment
Please bring these documents with you:
• a print out of your appointment confirmation;
• a print out of your, signed and dated, visa application form, the visa application fee, unless already paid online;
• your passport;
• any documents that you want to provide in support of your visa application
About your supporting documents:
• They must be in English, or, if they are in any other language, you must provide a certified translation;
• you may need a tuberculosis (TB) test if you are going to the UK for more than 6 months Please check here https://www.gov.uk/tb-test-visa and submit your certificate with your supporting documents;
If you are under 18, one of your parents or guardians must give their permission in writing to you travelling to the UK. Please include this letter of consent with your supporting documents.
•You must make sure you provide all the documents that you want the visa officer to consider.

Spouse visa documents submission

Post by tabletop123 » Fri Nov 23, 2018 5:50 pm

Hello all,

Can someone please clarify me what need to be taken on the appointment day? Do the supporting documents need to be sent directly to UK or should be shown on the day of the appointment?

The VFS website say's post directly to UK, but the appointment letters says bring the application and the supporting documents on the day of the appointment.

Also what about the appendix 2 document?, is this considered as application or supporting document?

Please can someone help me out.

Thanks

For Bio-metrics your wife just needs to take with her:

- Appointment Letter
- Passport
- 2x Passport Photo
- Printed copy of Online Application (only to show to them, do not submit it to them)
- Application payment proof

She ONLY submits her bio-metrics and Passport at VFS NOTHING else, otherwise sometimes they end up posting from India and then when you post from UK there is 2 bundles. She sends her other documents to you, and you add your stuff and then send everything to Sheffield from within UK. Appendix 2 is part of the application and is required to be send with the bundle to sheffield.

And during biometrics don't forget to buy at very nominal price the SMS service which keep you update.

Thank you so much for your reply.

If she doesn't have to show the TB certificate and marriage certificate, at the VFS, can I ask her to mail me over here all the documents before her appointment and can I send all the supporting documents to Sheffield before her appointment date?

Yes she can but she also need to sign the online application form and the same is needed for biometric appointment too.

Just came across this link which contains a letter from home office, (feb 2018)
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/ ... 2.pdf.html

"Visa applicants can themselves submit
their personal documents, such as TB certificates and marriage certificates,
together with their travel document or passport, when attending a Visa
Application Centre. "

Does this mean my partner doesn't have to send them to me, has anyone does this way?

Thanks

You have already been advised that all support documents is sent to Sheffield. Stop confusing yourself.
