Can I keep my travel documents when applying for naturalisation via UKVCAS?

Post by dushyant » Sun Jan 20, 2019 10:23 am

Hi all,

I am finding conflicting when trying to find out if I need to submit my passport when applying for British citizenship via UKVCAS. Members of this forum have reported that UKVCAS only keep a copy of the first pages of their passports which means they can travel overseas whilst the naturalisation application is in progress but reading https://www.gov.uk/guidance/ukvis-new-f ... ed-to-know it says:
We will seek to return documents to customers at the end of the appointment, with some exceptions such as travel documents.
Hopefully someone here with more experience can shed some light.
Can I or can I not keep my travel documents when applying for naturalisation via UKVCAS?

If you use the new system you can keep your original documents.
