Spouse Visa

Post by aaghajee » Mon Jan 28, 2019 1:03 am

Respected,

I would like to know does minimum income requirement of £18600 still apply to someone who is living in parents private house (not a council or housing association) where he neither have to pay any rent nor any contribution towards household expenses i.e. utilities etc?

I have heared in this case the financial requirement is of National Income Support level which is currently £114 per week equivalent of £6087. One of my friend has used this rule in 2011 and his spouse was granted the visa, i wonder if this rule still applies please.

Kind regards,

Raza

The Immigration Rules changed on the 9th July 2012 when the £18,600 minimum income level was introduced.

It no longer relevant what your living costs are, only that you meet the required annual earnings or have substantial savings to make up for any income shortfall
