Hi,
I am a Canadian permanent resident hoping to join my wife in the UK. We will be applying for spouse visa soon so I had certain queries related to the process:
1) The spouse visa, if approved, will be for 33 months. However, my current passport only has 2 years left & will expire before full duration of the visa. Will that be an issue with the Home Office, or if the HO doesn't mind & approves the visa on my current passport, will there be an issue later on once my passport does expire in due time?
2) How do you avail the priority service which aims to process an application within 30 business days of biometrics. I have found the VFS site that offers the service (I will be applying from Toronto). But what I want to know is a detailed description of how this process will unfold.
- Whether I need to submit the application first, or buy the premium service first?
- What will happen once I buy the service? How will VFS make sure that my application is priority & not be mixed up with the non-priority ones?
- What do I select as visa appointment type in the appointment booking section of the application, as it only gives me the following options - Standard, Primetime, Super Priority, Tier 4 (students) - & I know super priority is not applicable for settlement visas.
3) Lastly, my wife started working in the UK on the 18th of August last year, so she will complete six months on 21st Feb 2019 (the date which we are thinking of applying). Now we have six payslips & bank statements (Prorated for August & then full months till Jan 31st). However, they technically cover a 5 & 1/2 month period instead of a six month period (we don't have payslips & statements for the first 20 days of Feb 2019). Can this be a problem? Her annual salary is 30,000 GBP.
Thanks in advance for all your help.
