BPS Dependent visa extension while main applicant in on ILR and self employed

Hi Guys,


I recently moved to ILR following the route General T2 5 years. After getting my ILR, I switched my job and started working as a Self Employed.

My wife is on a PBS dependent visa and her visa has to be renewed now.

I am applying for her visa extension under PBS dependent extension.
While filling out her visa extension online, I came across three points on which I am not clear, hence seeking some assistance from you guys. The points are as below:

1. Is Mr xxxx work in a shortage occupation? : I am the Director of my limited company and Directorship is not a shortage occupation but I work as a developer at my client which falls under shortage occupation. So what should be option for this point? Any assistance on this will be much appreciated.

2. Has Mr xxxxx’s sponsor agreed to certify your maintenance? -> I have selected NO for this point as there is no sponsorship for me now.

3. What is the length of Mr xxxx's certificate of sponsorship (CoS)? -> I have chosen 3 years or less.

Any suggestion or assistance will be much appreciated.

Questions are asking about your route to ILR and your previous sponsor NOT your current job if you have left your sponsor.

In the form at some point, there is an option to select that you have ILR.

Thanks for your prompt response.

Yes, you are correct they do have the option to say if the main applicant has ILR or British Citizenship. Selecting 'Yes' for this question, they still asking about "Shortage occupation", "sponsor's agreement to certify maintenance" and "length of main applicant's certificate of sponsorship (CoS)".

So simply complete the details of your sponsor you had when last on Tier 2. It is not a set of trick question.

Hi Guys,
Need some more information on IHS amount.

My wife is currently on Tier-2 General PBS dependant visa which is valid till 22-Mar-2019.
I (main applicant) got my ILR last year in July 2018 which is valid till 2024. Earlier I was on Tier-2 general visa.

Now, I want to apply for extension of my wife 's current visa,
I am using PBS- Dependant partner form to apply for the extinction (Is it the right form?).
I filled out the application (along with the details for the section "The person you are joining or accompanying"). After finishing the application form, it's redirecting yo IHS website to pay IHS, and it asks to enter visa validity date of "The person you’re joining or remaining with in the UK". When I enter my ILR validity date which is till 2024, it calculates total amount of £2400. Which I believe it calculates till 2024. But as I am applying for PBD dependant visa which is for 3 year, it should only be asking for £1200.

How much health surcharge I need to pay for my wife's PBS dependant visa application?
And which option should I select while paying for health surcharge?
