NARIC FOR UK SPOUSE VISA

Post by SVEENA » Mon Feb 18, 2019 11:49 am

Hi,

I'm a bit confused for my English assessment for UK spouse visa. I have applied for NARIC (Red route, Visa and Immigration). I have a degree from UK university( Heriot-watt University, Scotland) but studied in the UAE.

MY application for NARIC got refused. mentioned below;

Dear Sir / Madam, Unfortunately, we cannot provide an assessment of this qualification for the following reason: The qualification you have submitted has been issued by a UK awarding body. Here at UK NARIC, we are only able to provide comparability information for qualifications obtained overseas. Qualifications issued by British awarding bodies should be presented directly to potential employers/admitting institutions for their consideration. Kind regards UK NARIC

I'm confused about what exactly is the home office looking for in terms of English Assessment. Do they need the ENGLISH LANGUAGE ASSESSMENT letter?

In my opinion you would be exempted from English test because of holding UK degree even though achieved in UAE. Guideline only state UK degree without mentioning that it has to be achieved only within UK.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

NARIC FOR UK SPOUSE VISA

Post by SVEENA » Tue Feb 19, 2019 9:28 am

Dear All,

Im desperately in need of some accurate advise or suggestion even regarding English requirement.

Since NARIC refused to provide me a letter for English Language Assessment stating that i hold a degree from the UK (study center in Dubai) and I have to directly apply the certificate.

"Dear Sir / Madam, Unfortunately, we cannot provide an assessment of this qualification for the following reason: The qualification you have submitted has been issued by a UK awarding body. Here at UK NARIC we are only able to provide comparability information for qualifications obtained overseas. Qualifications issued by British awarding bodies should be presented directly to potential employers/admitting institutions for their consideration. Kind regards UK NARIC "

So my husband called NARIC and they said the same above reason. Checked with home office but they were not individually advising on what to do but generally, they told to attach the refusal reason from NARIC.

Will that be fine or is there anything else i have to do regarding English language?

The call centre is outsourced to a third party with poorly trained agents. You can call 10 times and will likely get a different response each time.

To save yourself from a potential refusal, why not do the English test, which takes 20 minutes and costs the same as NARIC Red Route.

No!! But if not in English, it must be officially translated.
