SPOUSE VISA - DOCS REQUESTED - QUERY

Post by shaiderrn » Thu Feb 28, 2019 2:53 pm

Hi , i am ILR Holder and i applied for my wife spouse visa on December 14th 2018

today my spouse received an email from home office asking for my previous employer letter confirming the employment. Thats the only document they requested. and asked to submit within 10 working days.

Is this because i moved to another employer in September 2018 ? i provided current employer letter and all.
I was on tier 2 general visa before ILR i switched my job after 1 month of getting ILR.

Bit worried now if anyone has gone through with this all please share and answer the queries if you can

Thanks

As your previous posts suggest you submitted 12 months payslips, note that Appendix 1.7 Financial Requirements state you need the following (page 35) :

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... _Final.pdf
2. In respect of salaried employment in the UK (except where paragraph 9
applies1
), all of the following evidence must be provided:
(a) Payslips covering:
(i) a period of 6 months prior to the date of application if the person has been employed

1
See sections 5.5.13. to 5.5.15. of this guidance.
Appendix FM 1.7: Financial Requirement
August 2017
36
by their current employer for at least 6 months (and where paragraph 13(b) of this
Appendix does not apply); or
(ii) any period of salaried employment in the period of 12 months prior to the date of
application if the person has been employed by their current employer for less than 6
months (or at least 6 months but the person does not rely on paragraph 13(a) of this
Appendix), or in the financial year(s) relied upon by a self-employed person.
(b) A letter from the employer(s) who issued the payslips at paragraph 2(a) confirming:
(i) the person's employment and gross annual salary;
(ii) the length of their employment;
(iii) the period over which they have been or were paid the level of salary relied upon in
the application; and
(iv) the type of employment (permanent, fixed-term contract or agency).

Yes i have submitted 12 months payslips and obviously theres slight variation of salary coz i changed the employment. However i can still provide all requested documents, just want to find out if this is normal ? if someone change employment they submit previous employment letter with docs ?

Its really very weird request to ask the previous employment letter which no one else ever been asked. In case of category B simply 12 months of payslips with the employer letter from most recent employer is usually required.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

My solicitor was quite surprised to see the email as well, but he will be submitting the confirming letter tomorrow. Hopefully that will be it and they dont ask for further details as it would take lot longer to process the application :( i want to bring my wife as soon as possible.
