Applying for family extension (5 years route)

Hi everyone,
In my initial visa application (spouse), I did that myself and was granted a visa. Now that there has to be an extension to this 30 months from the initial visa, my query is regarding financial requirements.

If I (dependent) am employed full time and my wife (Sponsor) isn't working, can we use just my income or does the sponsor needs to keep on working. I am earning in excess of the 18,600 thresholds. I have read the financial requirement appendix and it says "Sponsor's income or, and applicant's income can be counted."

Income earned by either of you can be used to meet the financial requirement under category A/B.
