10 years Long residence applying for ILR

Post by Kam1112 » Mon Apr 08, 2019 3:07 pm

Hi all,

Hope all is well.

I am looking to apply for my ILR by using the long residence law (10 years ) within the next few months. I just had a question with regards to the length of my stay in the UK. I first moved to the UK with a tourist visa in end of June 2009 ( was allowed to stay in the country for 180 days legally ) , stayed until October and went back home and change my visa to a Tier 4 student visa and came back in November and been living here since. I just want to know if my 10 years start counting from when I entered the UK in June or November. Because on the Home Office website it states that the 10 years starts counting when you entered UK with a valid visa and does not specify what kind of visa.

Many Thanks,

June. All visas count for ILR based on long residence.
