Can a benefit seeker sponsor for visitor visa?

Hello,
I have few questions
1. Can a benefit seeker sponsor for visitor visa?
2. Is it important to show any event or it can be a general sponsor to meet and for holidays?
3. I have got study visa of Canada, Can we mention this to embassy and say before going for studies I want to meet my cousin?
