ILR application debt question

So I am wanting to know if the home office when applying for ILR on ancestry Visa check debt in home country. For reasons I am not willing to discuss at this time due to complications between myself and debt company.

So I arrived in UK couple years ago and my debt in SA has been passed onto attorneys for collection process but this is something I am refuting and total debt around £3000+-
This will hopefully be sorted next visit to SA but this will be after ILR application .
Do they run international checks on applications

In short, no HO don't.

Why have you communicated with them etc?? Had you ignored it and them, not communicated or anything, the debt would have become prescribed after 3 years and at this point they cannot claim from you or pursue you etc.
