Urgent Query Regarding HSMP Dependent Visa: Maintenance

Post by rkrohela » Sun Jun 29, 2008 4:54 am

Dear Friends,

I am currently in the UK under old HSMP regime. I am going to apply for my wife's dependent visa on 15 July. Now the problem is my balance is falling short of GBP 1600 for 7 days in April 2008. Apart from that, it is above GBP 1600 for the past three months.

Now the query is; will this be a problem for dependent visa. I am also submitting my wife's INDIAN savings bank account statements for the past three months which have a balance of INR 70000 plus all through. Can I add the balances of those statements to meet the maintenance criteria??

Please advise this is very important for me. Thanks a ton!!

Cheers.

If you(main applicant) are here for last 12 months or more, your dependents only need to show 533 GBP for last 3 months.

While the answer above takes care of your problem, but thought you might still want to know - Yes, you can use your wife's bank account as evidence of maintenance funds (independently or alongwith yours).

Thanks a ton for your replies. I have been here for only 7 months as of now, so will need to show GBP 1600. For only a week or so in the three month period my balance across all accounts is falling below that. It will be taken care of if I will use my wife's statement.

Do we have to prepare an Excel sheet or something showing consolidated balances daily across all accounts to make it simpler for ECO's??
