Visa Applications

Post by pipsaholic » Tue Jun 11, 2019 8:01 am

I understand with most visas when they are due to expire they required to be submitted 3-6 months in advance to give way to waiting times until visa expires.

What happens if you submit your visa late are the home office understanding? Is it even accepted?

No they don't. An application can be made up to the date of visa expiry and a person is covered by section 3c of the immigration rules while HO is processing it, regardless of how long it takes

Same as answer above and has been answered 100s of times on the forum. The issue is submitting an application after visa expiry.

I think you need to read the rules on visa application extension - you are clearly misinformed and seem to be reliant on hearsay and rumour.

Maybe you also mean switching from one category into another category while the visa is going to expire in 3-6 months. For example a tier 2 visa holder marries British citizen with 6 months remaining on his tier2 visa. In that case better to switch immediately to start your clock towards ILR without delay.
