Work permit priority service?

Post by asharma16 » Fri Jun 21, 2019 11:32 am

Hi ,
Can you please help me answer my below queries-

1. Is there any priority service to get ireland work permit? What’s minimum/ average time to get work permit
2. After getting visa, when can we apply for visa for my wife( I plan to marry her)
3. Getting critical skill work permit is more beneficial if one thinks to get Ireland passport in future ?

Your questions are bit confusing. you need to be more clear on what you are looking for... Are you in Ireland at the moment? where is your wife? you are not married yet? what visa are you looking to apply for her? Does she have a Job offer already to apply for a work permit?

No. It takes 3-4 month approx. to obtain a work permit.
2. After getting visa, when can we apply for visa for my wife( I plan to marry her)
No idea what are you asking here.

No such thing. you can apply for Naturalisation after completing 5 years of residency in Ireland. See INIS website for more information.

I guess that:
- you got a job offer from a company in Ireland
- you are currently outside Ireland
- you need a visa to enter Ireland

Depending on whether your employer is a trusted partner, your work permit can take 1-3 months to be issued. There’s no express service.

Once you get your work permit, you need to apply for a entry visa from the Irish embassy in your country.

Once you have got your visa and entered Ireland, you go to GNIB or your local Garda station to register yourself. The appointment can take about 1-10 weeks depending on your luck.

You then wait for 2-3 weeks for your Irish Residence Permit to arrive.

Then you can start the visa application for your spouse.

If you are married, things are a bit quicker and easier but it still takes at least one or two months.

If you are not married, you need to apply for pre-clearance from De Facto unit in INIS. This takes about six months. You need to have at least lived together for 2 years. Once you get approval, you start the visa application for your spouse.

Naturalisation has nothing to do with your work permit. It requires five years residence in Ireland, among other things. Work permit is not part of the requirement and will not give you any advantage.
