Appendix K Shortage Occupation List

Hi everyone,

The Migration Advisory Commitee (MAC) in the UK published a new document after reviewing the shortage occupation list in May 2019. However, the Appendix K in the UK Gov page still doesn't reflect the changes that were recommended by the MAC. Does anyone know when will these changes be reflected in the Appendix K document?

If I submit a Tier 2 application now for a job that's in the shortage occupation list (SOL) will it be assessed against the current Appendix K or the most upto date SOL as published by the MAC?

I would be grateful if someone can help answer these questions. Many thanks!

If you apply now, it will be based on the current SOL. The MAC report is just that, a report of recommendations. When HO choose to implement them, is anyone's guess, but HO have in the past updated the tier 2 rules in October, January and April of various years.

Okay thanks for your reply. Another question, in my visa application its mentioned that the job I will be doing is in the shortage occupation list hence the visa fee that was paid is for the tier 2 application upto 3 years - shortage occupation. However, in my CoS my employer forgot to tick Yes to the question "Is this job under shortage occupation list".

What can we do now? Will it still be considered as job listed under shortage occupation list? The application has already been submitted and biometrics already enrolled as well.
