Import license eligibility

Post by chandranmarani » Fri Aug 30, 2019 9:41 am

Hello,

I am having Tier 2 general visa. I work for a company in UK who sponsored me this Tier 2 general visa. I am in my 3rd year under this visa. My question is, can I apply for a import license to UK government? I wish to import groceries from India. I am married, anticipating an answer "NO" then can I apply it for my wife who is Tier 2 dependant

Thanks
Chandra

The link deals with the licence and NOT with immigration issues. Two completely separate issues.

You as a tier 2 visa holder cannot be self employed, which is what this would be as you would need to have a business to get a licence and meet all of the requirements.

Thank you... Is this applicable for Tier2 dependant? Can she apply for import license. A business can start only if this license is available.

Yes, fine for your dependent to be self employed and have a business.
