Switching from fiancee to spousal visa

Post by aranawana » Tue Oct 01, 2019 2:19 pm

. I recently married my British partner and we are working on switching from my fiancée visa to the spousal visa. I was granted entry clearance in August 2019 and we married in September 2019. Until then, due to my work and religious commitments, we were not living together. I was based between the UK and Sri Lanka and my partner is based in the UK only. We are a little confused as the application is requesting evidence of 2 years of living together, including utility bills and so on. While I am now on the council tax and utility bills, this is only post our marriage on September 14 2019. How do we ensure that our application is not rejected because of this?
Additionally, I have a history of living in the UK due to having done my MA and Phd here. I moved to Canada for a short time for work after this. Do I need to declare this previous history as ‘how long I have lived in the UK’ or only the time I have spent since my entry clearance as a fiancée?
There is a question about last leave and BRP- does my previous studnent visa which expired in 2013 need to be declared or is the last leave my fiancee visa? Thank you

2 years cohabitation is not required for switching from fiance to spouse visa.

Application form will ask you about your travel history/visa applications to UK or other countries. Just declare them honestly otherwise UKVI will count it as deception.

Thank you it has not asked about my previous travel, but about previous leave and how long i have lived in the UK. I lived in the UK from 2008-2013, and then i am back now because of my marriage. how do i enter the information? it doesn't quite provide the space to show the previous stay. i have not lived in the uk since 2013 although i have visited.

If there isn't enough or no space provided for giving such information then you can state in either in additional info section of the form/attach a covering letter.
