Can I travel to Europe if I get sacked from my General Tier 2 Visa job?

Post by goradesigns » Sat Oct 05, 2019 8:05 pm

My company is downsizing and I am afraid I will lose my job soon. I am an american with a 5 year General Tier 2 Visa, that they sponsored. I understand I have 60 days to leave? What if I want to travel to Europe and try to get a job in Germany or Spain? would I still have the three months americans get to be in Europe as a tourist while I job hunt?? thanks in advance for any advice

Being in Europe as a visitor for 90 days has nothing to do with your tier 2 general UK visa.

Note that if your employer informs ho they no longer sponsor you and you are outside the UK, your visa could be cancelled immediately and you won't be able to return on tier 2 for 12 months.

The 60 days curtailment starts when you receive the letter from HO and not the date of your last working day.
