PBS Dependant visa for spouse of ILR person (Tier 2 General)

Post by mishh1234 » Tue Oct 29, 2019 3:12 pm

Hi all,

Need you immediate help with the below query:
I came to UK 5 years back on Tier 2 General visa and my wife joined few months later as PBS Dependant. Now I have received my ILR and needs to file for my wife's visa (PBS Dependant as she has not completed 5 years and still has 6 months before she gets eligible for ILR). So 2 questions:
1. In my understading, I can still file for her PBS Dependant visa as she came on this route and still hold the same visa even though I am recently granted ILR. Please confirm.
2. While applying online, I am not able to find any link for applyng for PBS Depedent but I can see Family Route visa. I think its different from PBS dependent. Can anyone please help in locating the correct link.

The OP is asking about a PBS Dependent extension not ILR.

Thank you @CR001 this is really helpful. While filling out the application for my wife on this link it did not ask for any IHS (Health Surcharge) Refrence number. So I need to pay for her IHS or is it not required?

You have to pay the IHS for 3 years, £1200 and you need to put your ILR expiry date as X day Month 2022 to get the correct amount.

Has to be paid with each application that is made unfortunately.

Don't forget that you need the 90 days maintenance funds of £630 too.

Yups, thanks for the reminder. :)
My wife is getting eligible for ILR after 6 months but even for this 6 months I'll have to pay for complete PBS dependent visa and IHS for 3 years! Anyways it is what its is.

On a different note, I received my BRP for ILR today. Although it says Settelement and ILR but shows validaity as 5 years from now ( till 2024). Is it normal or should I check with Home Office?

It is normal. It is the date that is set by the EU/UK for all biometric cards and passports to be updated with more enhances security features.
