Hi All,
I have some concerns with my fiancé’s application for our proposed civil partnership.
Our relationship started in September 2017 while he was here on a work visa. He returned to China to work for his Dad in December 2017 when his visa expired.
I visited in February 2018 and met his parents. We continued our relationship long distance, but had concerns about how this would work.
He applied for a visitor visa in May 2018 to visit friends (he had lived here 7yrs) stating this in his application, though he stayed with me for the duration. He traveled to visit and stayed friends during his 2 week stay.
We became engaged in August 2018.
He did not continue to work for his dad to better careers prospects to move to the UK.
Our concerns are:
- on the tourist visa, he stated single. This was on the advice that until married/engaged, his legal status is ‘single’.
- his tourist visa didn’t mention me, but the purpose of his visit was to visit friends.
Having read a few other threads where “misrepresentation” has been mentioned, just wanted thoughts on this.
We are seeking legal advice prior, of course.
James.
