Switching from Tier 2 dependent to own tier 2 general visa

Post by Asim444 » Mon Dec 16, 2019 7:28 pm

Dear Forum
Can anyone please help get rid of my confusion in this regard I will be very grateful
I am a dr working in nhs (full time ) since 2016
I came to UK on my wife’s tier 2 Dependent in 2015
untill in August 2019 I switched to my own Tier 2 visa from Nhs ( the hospital where I am working since 2016)
Because of some rift between me and my wife she told the home office that we are no longer spouses so the home Office curtailed my leave to remain and told to get my own visa or get deported
My question is am I able to apply for ILR next year ?will my previous 4 years will be counted?or I have to start from August this for another 5 year to apply for ILR
I will be obliged if I get a clear answer thank you all.

You need 5 years on your own tier 2 general before you qualify for ilr.

You cannot count time as PBS dependent and tier 2 main visa holder to make up 5 years for ilr.
