Wrong curtailment leave notice

Post by ilyama » Sun Jan 05, 2020 11:41 pm

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working in the UK under tier 2 general visa.

I changed jobs to another sponsor in April 2019.
Everything was fine until in November 2019 I received Curtailment leave letter from the Home office. The letter stated that I they couldn’t find evidence of my new application after I left previous job in March and that I should leave the UK by end of January 2020. Letter didn’t provide any phone or email address, only return mail address. I replied straightaway sharing all the details of my application as well as the copy of valid BRP.

However, in the next two months I still haven’t received the reply from them. I tried calling Hone Office customer services number couple of times but h thy at was useless as they couldn’t provide any update.
What’s worse is that when I traveled last time outside of the UK, on my way back I was stopped and detained for a short period of time while border officer said she “needs to check the employment history”. They let me in eventually but stated that I might as well be stopped next time I’m travelling but wouldn’t say the reason or anything else.

Apologies for the lengthy message but I’d appreciate any feedback on my situation. I’m worried that I might be now stopped every time I travel.
Also, I’m worried that I haven’t received reply from the Home Office after two months. Are there any means of contacting them besides posting an email?

Thanks and regards!

the copy of valid BRP.

If this valid BRP is for your current employer, then you must have made an application!
You should not start your new job until you’ve received your biometric residence permit with your new permission.
Perhaps the curtailment caseworker was too embarrassed to apologize?
