Visa for Spouse of a british citizen living abroad

Hi All. I need your advise about what visa one can apply for, apart from the tourist visa, for spouse of a British citizen?

I am a British National and currently based and working in the middle east with no immediate plans of moving back to UK. My wife had a dependent visa which expired last year in April and now she needs to get a visa.
My question is that is there any visa which I can apply for as a spouse of British national or her only option is tourist visa?

In order for your wife to have UK spouse visa you both need to be permanently residing in the UK. So if you are looking for her to gain a residence permit for the country you reside in you would be better to ask that question in a forum dedicated to that country.

Your only option will be a tourist visa except if both of you intend to come and live in the UK permanently then you can apply for spouse visa assuming you can get a job offer within 3 months of your arrival in the UK plus your employment oversea in the last 12 months should be £18,600.
