Visa stamp date and entry date - different ..

Post by Dr_Aich » Fri Jan 10, 2020 11:36 am

Hello everyone,
I am very new and applying for ILR 5 years Tier 2 general category.
Need help in the following section please ....

Visa stamp date 4th May 2015
Actual entry to UK - 24th June 2015.

Q1) I was told that actually can apply Visa stamp date + 5 years - 28 days = 6th April 2020. Is it correct?
Q2) In the section ---- absence from UK, can this gap be shown there? But it says left UK, but if I put 4th May 2015, I never left UK, it was I did not arrive till 24th June.

Please help, very confused.

1. Yes it is correct. https://www.timeanddate.com/date/datead ... ad=28&rec=

2. No need to include this as absence in the form, however it will count towards your absence limit. Surprisingly, HO do actually know the rules.

Many thanks ..... I know its similar questions that you all face regularly. But its such a very expensive process, need to be very sure.
Getting mixed responses.
Some saying better to just go for Entry date as actually does the 5 years completion as, Visa issue date can be declined sometimes as not actually 5 years of residence.
Some say no problem go ahead and put as absence.

So just confused...

Stop listening to 'some' who tell you it is entry date. Many have applied and been granted ILR as the initial visa ISSUE date is used, clearly stated in the rules for PBS migrants.

Note the date of entry is used for OTHER visa types that are not PBS route visas, so best not get confused by 'some'.
