Need my mum to live with us

Hello all,

I hope someone can help - We want my mum (widow) to come and live with us in UK (both my wife and I are BC) as we are expecting our 2nd child soon.
The main reason we need her here is because she is alone now (as my older brother who used to live with her has left/abandoned her), but the problem we have is that she does not fit in the normal relative "eligibility criteria". She is under 65, and we have not been supporting her financially, until now as she is alone and we have to start sending funds to her.

Has anyone any experience of this criteria on whether she is eligible to come and live with me if I can prove I earn enough to be able to support her here?
