Applying for UK citizenship before 12 month settled status

Hi,

is it possible to apply for British citizenship before having reached 12 months settled status?

I am only eligible to apply for settled status in a couple of months time once I have lived in the UK for 5 years. I would like to hold dual citizenship, but I would need to apply for British citizenship by the end of December (end of Brexit transition period) in order be allowed to keep my German passport.

Only if you are married to a British citizen on the date of application.
