Family visit visa

Post by Sponsor_ilr-set(M) » Mon May 25, 2020 3:29 pm

Hi
I hope everyone is fine.
My question is about my mother's visit visa to UK from Pakistan.
I am British citizen and my wife and son ilr visa application is in process
Q: Can I apply for my mother's UK visit visa from Pakistan during the same time as my family ILR application is in process?

If most of the supporting documents are from your side then there won't be any affect at all. Because some months ago one member shared his experience where his parents/relative visit visa application was rejected because the applicant's visa was near to expire and probably he/she had attached his supporting documents.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

The Family Visitor visa doesn't exist anymore.

There is only the Standard Visit visa but family ties and circumstances will be assessed when they are a factor:

I usually send 3 months and it's enough.

So they get:

- 3 months bank statements
- 3 payslips showing the same salaries that went to the bank

@Zerubbabel really appreciate for your assistance and sharing of information.
One more question
Q:Do you have any idea about savings from uk end and from Pakistan end?
Mostly my mother will show savings from her side.

When I invited my mother or other family members, I never showed savings on my side. However, they showed their own savings.

In 90% of the cases, the Home Office granted visitor visas for my family without any issue.

However, recently, someone from my family got refused because the week before the application, the person borrowed some money from family and put it in the account to "make it look better".

So it's important to be honest and not to try to make the situation look better by playing with the money.

Other important thing that can trigger a refusal: make sure the money intended for the trip is reasonable. For my family, they usually claim they are going to spend a few hundred pounds towards the trip and I write in the invitation that I will host them and cover ALL their expenses.

The reasons is, if your family member has a salary of £120/month in his country, but claims £3000 will be used for the trip, the Home Office would take the position that no one would use the equivalent of 25 salaries just for a leisure trip. It's like someone in the UK making £2500/month but willing to spend £62500 to visit family. It doesn't make sense.

Also, show a maximum of attachment to the home country. This is KEY. If they feel the person has more family/attachment in the UK than in home country, the visa will be refused.
