Stay Period after Tier 2 General Visa employment early termination

Hi Experts,
In case an employer makes a person on tier 2 general visa redundant sooner than his actual visa expiry date, than how long that person can stay in the UK if visa expiry is still more than 1 year?
Can a person stay in the UK for 1 more year(till visa expiry) while searching for new job?

You can stay until ho send you a 60 day curtailment letter.

You cannot however work at all once you leave your sponsor. Not even the 20 hour per week supplementary employment.
