COS Expird!

Hi everyone

I've applied for a Tier 2 visa in Nov 2017 and I've been doing this job since then.

I just received a call from HR informing me of an issue that they faced whilst trying to update my info on the SMS, where they found that my COS was expired in Jan 2018!!!

I'm not sure what that means, neither them. So I've got three questions:
1. what does that mean?
2. Will this impact my ILR application?
3. Does that mean that I was not sponsored all this time or does it just expire normally after a successful application?

So you have already used the CoS to get your current Tier 2 visa? You have a Tier 2 visa BRP right?

If you have already got your visa and BRP then the CoS expiry should not matter, you have already used it before expiry.

Yes I've used it before it expires, I thought the same but I want it a reassurance, possibly a moderator can confirm please?
