Visa Application for Child from India

Post by rajeshdegala » Tue Sep 08, 2020 2:45 pm

Hi there,

I would like to request your valuable advice on my current situation. I received my ILR via T2 General 5 years route in March 2020 and my daughter currently in India born in the UK in 2016.

She is now staying with grandparents since Aug 2018 and her T2 dependent visa got expired in March 2020. I would like to bring her to the UK in the month of December and need your valuable advice on what type of visa should I choose to bring her.

Am I eligible to bring her to the UK on right to abode?

Thank you.

Only if the child has been registered as British on form MN1, which presumably you haven't done yet. It could have been done in November 2019 when your spouse got ILR.

ILR Settlement for Baby from India

Post by rajeshdegala » Mon Mar 29, 2021 9:49 am

Dear All,

We have applied ILR Settlement Visa for our daughter(born in the UK) from India as her T2 dependent Visa was expired.
We have received an email saying "Unfortunately, the processing of your application has been non-straightforward and we have been unable to resolve your application yet. Please be assured that we will continue to progress your application to enable a decision to be made as soon as possible. We will notify you via email once your application has been decided".

This is exactly after the 60 working days (standard application timelines). We have provided all the necessary documentation towards the application but not sure why the reply is given as non-straightforward. Has anyone faced the same situation of applying ILR settlement visa for baby from India?

Not able to contact UKVI over the telephone and no email response. Anyway to contact them ?

Your response is much appriciated.

Thanks,
Rajesh.

Alternatively, register child?

If you want a general update
If you want an update on the progress of your application, you can read our service standards to find out our processing times. It also contains details on how we will contact you if your application cannot be decided within the normal service standard. Progress enquiries should not be sent via the complaints route.
