ILR application-refused entry to Ireland via border

Post by ladypotter » Thu Nov 19, 2020 7:43 pm

Hello,

I hope you could help me. I have a few questions. I am on Tier 2 General Visa. My entry Clearance is 28.12.2015 and I arrived in the Uk 18.01.2016.
On July 2019,my husband and I went to Dublin. I live in Northern Ireland but I wasnt aware that a visa was needed to go to Ireland because my friends have just been going there without any problen. However,in the border, the police has stopped us and denied us entry. We were taken to the police station, pictures taken, details also were taken and we were given a letter that we were refused entry to Ireland due to not having a valid visa and passport. We were sent back to Northern Ireland that day. When asked if it would be a record in the PSNI,they said no,it would be in the Ireland's info, however I know that there are sharing of info among different countries.

1. Will this affect our application for ILR? In which part of the application do we need to put it (criminal offence?,etc)?
2. When can I start my application given my entry clearance was 28.12.20 while my date of entry was 18.01.2016?
3. Has anybody applied here from Belfast? I know there is a core service point here but Im just not so sure the processing time for the ILR.

I would greatly appreciate any response.
Thank you in advance

1. No. Irrelevant
2. It is counted from the visa issue date
3. Processing time does NOT depend on your location.
