Stamp 4 renewal if working as a freelancer

Post by inuyashafrank » Wed Dec 16, 2020 10:33 pm

Dear all,

I came to Ireland two years ago on a critical skill worker permit and now I am on a stamp 4 permit. There is now a good working opportunity from one company but the company is not registered in Ireland yet. They can give me a permanent contract, but I will have to either work as a freelancer or register a small company and work as a consultant in Ireland.

My question is since I am current on a stamp 4 permit, if i work as a freelancer in Ireland or i register a small company and work as a consultant here, lets say i have an annual salary as 100k either as a freelancer or small company income, will there be any problem when I need to renew my stamp 4 , can I still get the permit renewed? And what documents should i provide when renewing the permit?

Thanks
BR
Frank

You are allowed to be self-employed on Stamp 4.
That's 100%.
So you can work on contract, freelance, found your own company etc.
I would try to make sure though that you aren't in between contracts when you need to renew to avoid any questions.

As for documents, you will need to prove that you "are financially supported".
I guess your contract and payslips\invoices will be enough.
